Description: Vintage Taxco Mixed Media & Gemtone Box MCM Teak Lined Castillo Pineda Style.Fabulous vintage box handmade in Mexico mid century from mixed metals, which appear to be silver, brass and copper. Inlaid on top with natural Gemstone which has been identified to md as Azure and lava stone. Featimures branches and butterflies. Butterflies may be silverplated rather than solid silver. Inside is lined in teak and has brass feet. Marked Hencho En Mexico. This style was produced by both Vadyillo and apnea, however no makers mark is found on this piece to confirm who made it. I am also not a geologist or jeweler and relied only on info. Provided me from the previous owner.There is patina on the piece and I have left it alone.Please see photos for condition and size.
