Chrome exterior is in great shape very little wear from use a few small spots and scuffs bit very minimal. The front of the toaster where the levers are is a tin or aluminum plate and it is cloudy it was not designed to have a mirror finish its more of a brushed metal look. The flash painted lines and labels on the adjustment for fresh to frozen have some light wear on the left side. I started to clean some of the build up along the cracks and the rubbing alcohol started to remove the paint along with the build up. Still a great vintage American made chrome toaster.
