Description: Ibanez 480 Hollowbody ca. 1965 This is a very nice example of this model and a quality build. Best my research can conclude is that this is made in Nagoya, Japan by Matsuoka Guitar and not Fuji Gengakki (Fujigen in Matsumoto). The body has 5 ply binding but the f holes are painted, not bound. The pickguard is 4 ply. There is a center block in the body to help support the bridge. The bound neck is three pieces of wood with a rosewood fretboard, MOT block inlays and relatively unworn frets. The tuners are smooth and the guitar holds tune well (as long as you don't whammy too hard). Headstock/neck has a little twist, as seen in pics. Overall, some dings here and there, but good condition for such an old girl. The electronics work well and are amazingly quiet for a mid 60’s Japanese guitar. The pickups have nice clean tone and sound absolutely lovely.
