At Summer Sonic in 2022, they finally rose to become their first headliner, and with that momentum, they released their fifth album, "Being Funny In A Foreign Language," in October of the same year. Then, in April of this year, the band successfully completed their largest-ever Japan tour, THE 1975 AT THEIR VERY BEST JAPAN 2023, at the height of their career. Tickets for all five shows held in four cities, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka, were sold out (some additional seats were available), making it a massive tour that attracted a total of 42,000 people.
