I am an electrical engineer and started making unit for Nakamichi cassette decks for people on the NakTalk email list. Over the years my customers have asked me to make similar units for other models and brands of audio gear. I now make over 17 models of remote adapters for 10 different brands (Aiwa, Akai, Alesis, Ampex, Crown, Denon, Nakamichi, Otari, Revox, Sony, Studer, Tandberg, Tascam, Teac and Technics). I typically sell through eBay, but, low volume models are only sold direct. If you don't see a remote adapter for your equipment ask me, I might have one already. This unit works just like the Nakamichi RM-200 or RM-580 Wireless Remote Controller. It plugs into the back of properly equipped Nakamichi tape decks and allows the 6 standard transport functions (play, stop, pause, record, fast forward and rewind) to be controlled from across the room. On the RX-series it can control the tape flip function and on the Dragon it can control the Side-B play function (the original RM-580 could not control these functions). This unit can be controlled by any universal remote on the market. Just set it for one of the Sony VCR button codes. Includes a 3 in 1 Universal Remote which I load with batteries and program it to work with the remote receiver so you can be up and running in minutes. Compatibility List Compatible with 580, 580M, 581, 581Z, 582, 582Z, 660ZX, 670ZX, 680, 680ZX, 681ZX, 682ZX, 700ZXE, 700ZXL, 1000ZXL, BX-300, CR-5, CR-7, LX-3, LX-5, MR-1, ZX-5, ZX-7 and ZX-9. Directly compatible. No power adapter required. No modification to deck required. The following decks CR-2, CR-3, CR-4, RX-202 (S/N 50871 & up), RX-303, RX-505 and Dragon. Not compatible with 700, 700II, 1000 and 1000II. The remote adapter has a 8-pin DIN connector that won't fit the 7-pin DIN connector on the deck. I have a special version made for the 700/700II/1000/1000II that has the require the 7-pin DIN adapter and comes with an AC adapter.
