Description: 2 years of issues bound into a large book. 11.75” x 16”. 8-10 lbs.. Pages are unmarked, there’s the occasional small spot/stain/smudge. No appreciable yellowing. There’s a couple of small damp stains along a few page edges. A few raggedy page edges. Text block edge gilding clean and bright. Binding is good. The exterior has nicely embossed boards but it’s worn and there are scraped corners, worn spine cover ends, small splits top and bottom of the spine cover. Overall condition is easily good to good+. Considering the age, in some aspects very good condition is warranted. There are articles, poems, short fiction pieces, art reviews, art criticism, songs, etc.. Many pieces are written by well known authors of the time . These bound volumes are a great window into the popular arts and letters culture of the 19th. century. The amount and quality of the illustrations is tremendous. They involved many skilled engravers/printmakers. This volume, at one time, was in the personal library of Joseph Sadony, a well known author/philosopher/scientist from Michigan. His personal library pastedown is on the inside cover.
