Capable of Mach 3+ speeds, an operational altitude of 80,000+ ft. and a substantial range the SR-71 was initially untouchable. In time, improvements in air defense systems negated these advantages. As a means of still penetrating contested airspace without risking the airframe and crew a stealthy, supersonic drone was developed, the GTD-21B. The Hasegawa kit builds into an accurate and highly detailed model of the SR-71A/GTD-21B. The kit contains decals for 3 different versions of the plane. Kit is new and unstarted.
