Description: These gorgeous earrings are tough to photograph, but are always stunning in person! They have two small pieces of dichroic glass layered over one-another, which creates a brilliant multi-coloring shimmering effect. They are hung from unique heavy sterling silver french hooks. The earrings from the base of the ear wire measure approximately 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 inches in length. They are very light weight and have a nice movement to them. Dichroic glass is made from ultra-thin coatings of fine metals, which creates unique color features. "Dichroic" means it shows two different colors at the same time, usually from opposite ends of the color spectrum. It both transmits and reflects colors, resulting in gorgeous effects, especially when layered. I created this dichroic fused glass in a kiln at temperatures of 1250-1450 degrees.
