Description: Excellent late 18th C. American revolutionary war era, European hunting sword. Fine edged blade displaying a wild stag and floral designs and stands of arms. Bronze mounted with heavy fire gilt gold finish. Fine stag grip missing one metal edge strip. The reverse cross guard has the slogan-Nec Aspera Terrent (difficulties Be Dammed) as used by Innisking Fusiliers as early as 1715. I believe they saw action in the Americas.
