Description: DATING TO THE EARLY EDWARDIAN TEENS THIS IS A PIECE FROM THE ACTRESS LULU GLASER WHEN WE FIRST STARTED IN BUSINESS, THERE WAS A SALE 20+ YEARS AGO OF PIECES FROM THE ESTATE OF LULU GLASER. THIS PIECE WAS ACQUIRED FROM A COLLECTOR THAT PURCHASED MANY PIECES FROM THIS ERA AND COST WAS NO OBJECT. THE PETERSHAM ON THE INTERIOR IS HAND STITCHED WITH THE GLASER LAST NAME. FASHIONED OF A BLONDE FLORAL LACE AND THE GOWN IS ASYMETRICAL WITH THE BLONDE LACE FALLING DOWN ONE SIDE AND BEAUTIFUL LARGE PATTERN ROSE SILK CHIFFON FALLING DOWN THE OTHER SIDE AND THE INNER SKIRTING IN A PINK SILK TAFFETA THAT SHOWS THROUGH BOTH THE LACE AND CHIFFON. THE FRONT HAS A TAIL OF SILVERY SILK IN THE CENTER WITH BEAUTIFUL HAND BEADED FLORAL DETAIL. SHIMMERING GLASS BEADED FRINGE IN SMALL SEED BEEDS AND BUGLE BEADS FULLY TRIMS ALL OF THE SKIRTING ON ALL OF THE EDGES IN BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR. PLEATED SILK THAT MATCHES THE BEADED SILK ENCIRCLES THE WAISTLINE WITH THE SLEEVES IN LAYERS OF LACE TRIMMED IN THE GLASS BEADING ON THE ENDS, EVEN THE SLEEVES ARE ASYMETRICAL IN FASHION. A VELVET FLORAL PIN TRIMS THE CENTER FRONT AND APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL TO THE GOWN. A COMPLEX SERIES OF HOOK AND EYES AND SNAPS ENCLOSE THE REAR, THE INTERIOR BODICE IS LINED IN A THIN COTTON AND IS FULLY BONED. CONDITION: HEAVY BUT EVEN AGE COLOR IS SEEN TO THE LACE AND TO THE CHIFFON ON THE TOP REAR BODICE. THERE ARE SEVERAL BREAKS IN THE BLONDE LACE ON THE TOP RIGHT SHOULDER BUT HARD TO NOTE AS THE LACE IS DOUBLE LAYERED AT THAT POINT. THERE ARE THREE HOLES IN THE CHIFFON SKIRTING ON THE SIDE THAT I WOULD PUT A SMALL GATHER INTO TO FULLY HIDE, HARD TO NOTE AS IS. THE SILK AT THE CLOSURE ON THE REAR HAS SOME SMALL SPLITTING.
