At Ebay Store: Eclectic Traders * * * *Azhar Ali became just the fourth Pakistani to score a Test triple-century, when he scored an unbeaten 302 in Pakistan's first innings against West Indies. Declaring just three wickets down, with 579 runs on the board, Pakistan set the foundations for victory on their 'home' ground in Dubai. West Indies replied with 357 all out, 222 runs short of Pakistan's first innings declaration (Yasir Shah 5/121). Not wishing to enforce the follow-on, Pakistan collapsed in their second innings, making just 123 all out (thanks to Bishoo's incredible 8/49). West Indies were set a target of 346 for victory. Darren Bravo's 116 provided belief that the much maligned West Indies side could achieve the improbable, however, when he fell with West Indies 263/7, and when two run-outs followed, Pakistan emerged victorious by 56 runs in a captivating Test Match. This match was the Test debuts for Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz. Azhar Ali announced his retirement from Test cricket in December 2022, after the Pakistan home Test series against England. He played in 97 Tests, scored 7,142 runs, and his 302 not out remains his highest First-Class score to date. He captained Pakistan in 9 Tests.
