Antique Farmhouse Patchwork Calico Homespun Fabric Quilt ~ Indigo Blue Red Brown

Description: A most charming antique indigo patchwork quilt. A gorgeous array of calico ,homespun plaid, shirting and chambray cottons~ circa early 1900. Indigo, red, grays, black & brown. The back is a lovely indigo blue & red stripe flannel/brushed cotton. Very simply made which leads me to believe more utilitarian than a show piece quilt per se. I feel possibly a hired hand quilt due to it’s simplicity & size or may have been a youth quilt for a smaller bed. The filling is a simple flannel. There is a small opening on one side which allowed me to see some of the inner filling. Appears to be just one layer of flannel so isn’t overly thick or bulky. ***Measures-~ 58” wide by 72” long Condition is overall wonderful on this. Some of the fabric looks barely used so could have been from both reuse of older salvaged household/clothing pieces intermixed with unused fabric-~ whatever they had on hand basically.
