How to Replace Blower Motor Assembly Step 1 – Prepare the vehicle and remove blower motor assembly Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, and set it aside someplace where it isn't touching metal. If applicable, remove the passenger-side floor mat. Typically there is a plastic cover underneath your glove box. Detach the cover from the bottom of the lower dash. The blower motor will be attached at the bottom of the plastic climate control unit, disconnect the wires from the blower motor. Remove the screws holding the blower motor, carefully slide the motor out of the housing.
